During the early 60's
the foundation for the building that became the Corner Church was being poured, however the plans at that time was to build a Civic
League Club. God told Pastor Thomas to go out and tell them they were building a church. Can you imagine how that
sounded? At God’s Word, Mother Thomas went back several times. It got to the place where they just ignored her
and proceeded to build according to the original plans. After the building was completed it became a Civic League Club
for a short while, but God said it was a church. After the club closed it became a factory, which lasted a while until Elder
Rush from Charlotte took ownership and turned it into a church. Elder Rush and her congregation endured for a while but this
was not the established church He had revealed to Pastor Thomas. Once vacant, the building was purchased to make way
for a better worship experience for the congregation that was convening in the basement of the Thomas’ home. This was
the birth of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. Years later God spoke to her from Isaiah 54th & 60th
chapters, commanding her to enlarge the place and He said strangers would build up the walls. The church was enlarged and
sometime thereafter Deacon Thomas changed the name to the Corner Church of the Lord
Jesus Christ Apostolic.
We invite you to become
a part of the church today and a piece of its history tomorrow.
